Pros and cons of Mendenhall after 5 years

Hello, Been living here since 2011. It's a a small town city with about 2,397 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Mendenhall sits at 44.9 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $872 for rent here. The median home value here is around $102,800, which is actually reasonable. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Any advice would be great. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Springfield. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Hope this helps!.
