Freelancing from Mendota Heights -experience?

Been meaning to ask this. I'm single, late 40s, and You can expect to pay around $1,557 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 11,644 people. The median home value here is around $504,100, which is pretty steep. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Let me know your thoughts. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much affordable but now it's surprisingly good.
