Life in Mendota Heights as a young professional

Homes are going for about $504,100 on average. Poverty rate is 0.6%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $504,100, which is pretty steep. You can expect to pay around $1,557 for rent here. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What would you do? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 4 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
