Rent vs buy in Menomonee Falls -what makes sense?

The unemployment rate is 1.4%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 38,963 people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. Appreciate any input.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Phoenix about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Winters are long and cold

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is average.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Happy to answer more specific questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
