Cheapest neighborhoods in Menomonie?

First post here. I grew up here but left for a while. With a population of 16,548, Menomonie is a small town. Homes are going for about $203,800 on average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Old Town. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in retail. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like sushi.

No regrets on my end..

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. nightlife used to be much manageable but now it's excellent.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 10 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.
