OK so My family moved here when I was a kid. The unemployment rate is 2.0%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $637,800, which is pretty steep. Median household income is $205,982, which feels pretty solid for the area. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Used to live on the The Heights side, now on the Fairview side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Houston about 7 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are competitive, gas is excellent.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The cultural scene is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
