Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Fairview area are average. Kids love it here.

I've lived in Midtown for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- The cultural scene scene is tough
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Happy to answer more specific questions..
