OK so Been living here since 2023. With a population of 125K, Meridian is a mid-size city. Median household income is $98,686, which feels pretty solid for the area. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Worth the trade-offs? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Highland. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in retail. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like seafood.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Uptown for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Active local events and festivals
- Close to major attractions
- The dating scene scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Urban sprawl is real
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
