Meridian is underrated, change my mind

I keep seeing people overlook Meridian when talking about great places to live. With a population of 124,865, it's big enough to have everything you need but small enough to feel like a community. The downtown area has been revitalized. Weather is moderate — about 54F average.

Don't sleep on Southside. It's up and coming and still affordable.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

Been here 20 years. The city has changed a lot but overall for the better.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

The job market has been improving lately. Several manufacturing companies moved in recently.

Totally agree with this. I've been here 4 years and my experience is very similar.

Check out the Pine Grove area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

Coming from Atlanta, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are cheaper.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Cedar Hills and Maple Heights are perfectly safe.

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.
