Considering Meridian vs Cincinnati -help me decide

Hi all, Born and raised here. The median home value here is around $100,800, which is actually reasonable. Crime rate is something to consider -Meridian sits at 490.8 per 100K. Household incomes average around $34,657 in Meridian. With a population of 34,466, Meridian is a smaller city. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Any advice would be great. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. Used to live on the Lakewood side, now on the Highland side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 3 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a chef, 31, moved here 6 years ago from Pittsburgh. I've lived in Downtown and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Friendly community, easy to meet people
3. Good healthcare facilities
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited entertainment options
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The housing market situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for families. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Pittsburgh, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $50K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Happy to answer more specific questions..
