Housing in Meridian compared to Pittsburgh

Hey folks, Military spouse here. With a population of 34,466, Meridian is a smaller city. Poverty rate is 27.4%, which is higher than I expected. The unemployment rate is 3.9%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $865/month for a decent place. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Thoughts? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I'm a pharmacist and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is challenging and there's always something going on.
