What surprised you most about Meridian?
Been meaning to ask this. It's a a smaller city city with about 34,466 people. Median household income is $34,657, which feels on the lower side for the area. Homes are going for about $100,800 on average. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.
Pros:
- Diverse community
- Low taxes
- Lots of new development
- Good healthcare facilities
Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Far from major airports
- Homelessness issues downtown
Appreciate any input. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development.
