Longtime lurker here, Just moved here 4 months ago and Crime rate is something to consider -Meridianville sits at 781.9 per 100K. With a population of 10,268, Meridianville is a small town. Median household income is $93,030, which feels pretty solid for the area. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What would you do? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'm a physical therapist and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Atlanta about 2 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in Downtown for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- The job market scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.
