Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 9 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into running, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value housing market, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely excellent and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (West) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been in Greenfield for 11 years. Moved from Seattle for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.
**Employment:**
retail is strong here. real estate is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Homeless population growing downtown. And cultural scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in West. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in tech. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..
