The median home value here is around $458,500, which is pretty steep. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. TIA! As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much pricey but now it's underrated.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely solid and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (North) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.
