Alright, I've been here for 7 years and You can expect to pay around $1,478 for rent here. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Let me know your thoughts. Cheers. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Springfield. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like sushi.
Hope this helps!.

Moved here from Seattle about 3 years ago. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Still getting used to traffic but Happy to answer more specific questions..

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Raleigh it's improving.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Nashville about 8 years ago. The main reasons were work and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is excellent.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. No regrets on my end..
