Best hidden gems in Mesa Verde

Hello, Homes are going for about $102,700 on average. It's a a small town city with about 1,025 people. The median home value here is around $102,700, which is actually reasonable. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Low crime in most areas
- Low taxes
- Good healthcare facilities
- Walkable downtown

Cons:
- Limited dining options
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Not enough green space
What neighborhoods would you suggest? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I've lived in Downtown for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong job market in several industries
- The weather scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
