Quick question about Metairie

Hello, Poverty rate is 9.0%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 72°F, so it's warm year-round. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Am I wrong here? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I'm a software engineer and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great Italian places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Phoenix about 10 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is decent.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
