First post here. I grew up here but left for a while. You can expect to pay around $1,159 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider — Metairie sits at 161.0 per 100K. It's a a mid-size city city with about 139K people. With a population of 139K, Metairie is a mid-size city. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Let me know your thoughts. Any help is appreciated.
