Biggest downsides of living in Mexico?

Random thought, I'm retired and Household incomes average around $48,873 in Mexico. The median home value here is around $117,600, which is actually reasonable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What are your go-to spots?
