Unpopular opinion about Mexico

Hey folks, I'm retired and Rent is about $706/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $706 for rent here. The median home value here is around $117,600, which is actually reasonable. Household incomes average around $48,873 in Mexico. It's a a small town city with about 11,487 people. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Pros:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong sense of community
- Active local events

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Far from major airports
- Homelessness issues downtown
- Not enough green space
Thanks for reading. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 56, moved here 15 years ago from Charlotte. I've lived in Riverside and Sunset, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Not very walkable outside downtown
3. The food scene situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Riverside: Great for remote workers. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Sunset: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Charlotte, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
