Hello, It's a a smaller city city with about 81,319 people. You can expect to pay around $1,733 for rent here. With a population of 81,319, Miami Beach is a smaller city. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Would love some local perspective. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value housing market, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely pretty good and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (West) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 11 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into running, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Riverside. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in marketing. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 14 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is solid.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. No regrets on my end..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in South for 5 years. Moved from Miami for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is decent - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. South schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Can feel isolated. And nightlife can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 5/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Came here for family and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The walkability is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
