Planning a move to Miami Beach -neighborhoods?

OK so I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Poverty rate is 8.6%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Miami Beach sits at 924.2 per 100K. It's a a smaller city city with about 81,319 people. Rent is about $1,733/month for a decent place. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Any advice would be great. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 12 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Midtown for 9 years. Moved from Nashville for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Midtown schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Property taxes are high. Not a lot of cultural diversity. And healthcare can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 5/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've been here 4 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great farm-to-table places. I have mixed feelings honestly.
