Commute times in Miami — how bad?

OK so You can expect to pay around $1,657 for rent here. Median household income is $59,390, which feels about average for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Worth the trade-offs?

I've lived in The Heights for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The walkability scene is solid

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 10 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Bought a house here in 2020 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Boston it's pretty good.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.
