Unpopular opinion about Miami

Curious what people think. With a population of 447K, Miami is a mid-size city. The weather takes some getting used to. Anyone in a similar situation? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Definitely worth checking out..

The food scene here is solid. Tons of great seafood places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The walkability is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely solid and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Nashville it's better than expected.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

I'm a software engineer and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is challenging and there's always something going on.
