Is Miami Gardens still affordable?

Average temperature is around 76--F, so it's warm year-round. The unemployment rate is 5.1%, which is about average. Homes are going for about $337,200 on average. The median home value here is around $337,200, which seems about average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Pros:
- Low crime in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Limited nightlife
- High property taxes
- Poor road conditions
- Mosquitoes and humidity
Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely decent and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
