Miami Lakes job market vs Cleveland

Longtime lurker here, With a population of 30,731, Miami Lakes is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $577,300, which is pretty steep. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Has anyone dealt with this? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Lakewood. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in retail. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2024 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
