Alright, Median household income is $97,255, which feels pretty solid for the area. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from San Francisco about 7 years ago. The main reasons were work and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Midtown for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- The nightlife scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Westside. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Korean.
No regrets on my end..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a physical therapist, 47, moved here 14 years ago from Austin. I've lived in Riverside and East, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Chain restaurants dominate
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The public transit situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Riverside: Great for retirees. average vibes, walkable.
- East: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $80K-$120K here.
**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Nashville it's better than expected.
