Hi all, Born and raised here. Poverty rate is 5.5%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $203,700, which is actually reasonable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Am I overthinking this? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a sales manager, 33, moved here 3 years ago from Austin. I've lived in West and Riverside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Four distinct seasons
2. Diverse dining options
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Can feel isolated
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The community vibe situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for remote workers. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $80K-$80K here.
**Final verdict:**

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 5 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
