Co-working spaces in Middle Island?

Hey folks, I'm a college student here and Household incomes average around $89,702 in Middle Island. Homes are going for about $347,900 on average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Let me know your thoughts. Looking forward to hearing from you all. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Eastside. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in finance. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Greenfield. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in tech. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Used to live on the West side, now on the Riverside side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a chef, 34, moved here 11 years ago from Boston. I've lived in West and South, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Urban sprawl is real
3. The school system situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for retirees. solid vibes, walkable.
- South: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Boston, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $100K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in East for 3 years. Moved from San Diego for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. East schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Bugs and humidity in summer. And food scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 7/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 9 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good airport with direct flights
- The pet-friendliness scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Hope this helps!.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
