Just moved to Middle Island, any tips?

Anyone else feel this way? I grew up here but left for a while. You can expect to pay around $1,774 for rent here. The median home value here is around $347,900, which seems about average. Homes are going for about $347,900 on average. It's a a small town city with about 11,086 people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

I've lived in East for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The walkability scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..
