Unpopular opinion about Middle River

Curious what people think. I'm retired and Median household income is $74,198, which feels about average for the area. Homes are going for about $251,200 on average. You can expect to pay around $1,639 for rent here. It's a a smaller city city with about 31,616 people. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong sense of community

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Cold winters
- Rising rent prices
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Chain restaurants dominate
Thanks in advance! The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.
