Should I move to Middle Valley or stay in Nashville?
Not sure if this has been asked before, but It's a a small town city with about 11,808 people. The unemployment rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Has anyone dealt with this? Cheers. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from San Francisco about 7 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is decent.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Hope this helps!.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely decent and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Midtown) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Pine Hills. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in finance. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
