Just moved to Middleburg Heights, any tips?

First post here. I'm retired and Homes are going for about $213,100 on average. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 15,817, Middleburg Heights is a small town. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Worth the trade-offs? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely excellent and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (East) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
