Cost of living reality check -Middleton

Random thought, I'm single, late 20s, and You can expect to pay around $1,357 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 22,235 people. Rent is about $1,357/month for a decent place. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. Would love some local perspective. Any help is appreciated. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
