Healthcare options in Middleton?

Hi all, My family moved here when I was a kid. The median home value here is around $457,400, which is pretty steep. It's a a small town city with about 22,235 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Am I overthinking this? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Midtown) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Austin about 5 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is challenging.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is solid in most areas.

The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great BBQ places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
