Most overrated things about Middletown

First post here. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What are your go-to spots? Thanks for reading.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Miami about 7 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is average.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in South. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in tech. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
