Raising a family in Middletown -thoughts?

We're a young couple and Median household income is $115,252, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 7.8%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Middletown sits at 208.0 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 24,071 people. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Does this match your experience? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much reasonable but now it's improving.
