Is it worth buying in Midland?

Longtime lurker here, Homes are going for about $298,600 on average. The unemployment rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Any advice would be great. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Uptown. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in construction. If you're in retail you might struggle.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
