Most overrated things about Midland

Curious what people think. Median household income is $91,169, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $91,169 in Midland. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Any advice would be great. The weather takes some getting used to.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is average in most areas.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The safety is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Downtown. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much established but now it's improving.
