So, I'm retired and Crime rate is something to consider -Midwest City sits at 270.5 per 100K. Is this normal for Midwest City? Thanks in advance!

I work in construction here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is average. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely challenging and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Springfield) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.
