Freelancing from Mila Doce -experience?

Hey folks, Just moved here 2 months ago and Rent is about $625/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 75--F, so it's warm year-round. With a population of 8,298, Mila Doce is a small town. Median household income is $46,544, which feels on the lower side for the area. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Am I wrong here? I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
