Alright, I'm single, late 30s, and With a population of 50,749, Milford is a smaller city. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Miami about 2 years ago. The main reasons were weather and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is better than expected.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Definitely worth checking out..

I work in finance here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is decent. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much wild but now it's better than expected.

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 2 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Hope this helps!.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a sales manager, 42, moved here 5 years ago from Phoenix. I've lived in Eastside and Downtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Decent public transit for the size
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Property taxes are high
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The cost of living situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for remote workers. decent vibes, walkable.
- Downtown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Phoenix, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $40K-$150K here.
**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 2 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Highland. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in tech. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Indian.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Downtown for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good airport with direct flights
- The dating scene scene is solid
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The job market scene is tough
The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
