Best areas to explore in Milford?

The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $1,702/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $429,800 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Milford sits at 165.4 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Am I overthinking this? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Dallas about 4 years ago. The main reasons were work and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is average.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Good luck with whatever you decide..
