Is Milford worth moving to in 2026?

Hey, Rent is about $1,702/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $88,992 in Milford. The city has invested a lot in new development. Let me know your thoughts. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The nightlife scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from San Francisco about 10 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are wild, gas is tough.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Definitely worth checking out..

Used to live on the Sunset side, now on the North side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 11 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
