Longtime lurker here, Born and raised here. The median home value here is around $193,600, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 16,923, Millbrook is a small town. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to.

Bought a house here in 2023 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

I've lived in South for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals
- The traffic scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.
