Working in Millbrook -salaries realistic?

Random thought, We have two kids and With a population of 16,923, Millbrook is a small town. Crime rate is something to consider -Millbrook sits at 486.2 per 100K. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Worth the trade-offs? TIA! Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Dallas about 8 years ago. The main reasons were school and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is tough.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Hope this helps!.
