Is Millcreek worth moving to in 2026?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Household incomes average around $98,502 in Millcreek. Homes are going for about $579,300 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Millcreek sits at 869.3 per 100K. Median household income is $98,502, which feels pretty solid for the area. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Would love some local perspective. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a contractor, 39, moved here 4 years ago from Phoenix. I've lived in Westside and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Good schools in most areas
3. Good internet infrastructure
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The housing market situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Westside: Great for singles. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Phoenix, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $90K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 3 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.
