Best kept secrets of Miller Place, NY

Longtime lurker here, I'm a teacher here and With a population of 11,743, Miller Place is a small town. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What would you do? Any help is appreciated. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Used to live on the The Heights side, now on the Old Town side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
