I'm a teacher and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Portland about 1 years ago. The main reasons were school and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is excellent.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
